I bought this LE1600 slate, no software installed. The only thing that appears on power on is 'Operating system not found'. I have a standalone copy of Win XP tablet but I have no recovery CDs. I tried to reinstall the software via an external USB-DVD Rom but the computer would not recognize the drive. I even bought an original motion computing external USB DVD ROM but that did not help either. I do not know how to install an OS on this slate, do I have to have original recovery CDs or is there something else I can do other than returning this slate to the seller.

Feb 08, 2017  I have a mac OSX and am running the latest google chrome browser, though I cannot view pdfs. Every time I click a link that would send me to a pdf I. Google Chrome won't display PDFs. Then suddenly the page loads and all good. It seems to happen less when I have closed all tabs and reopened Chrome. It is intermittent though (and therefore maddening). Click to expand.This model is capable of booting from USB drives. I havent tired a USB CD Rom but used a USB Flash drive.Try this1) Boot your computer and enter the Bios configuration. In the boot section make sure that boot from USB (CD and/or USB Flash) is enabled and is before the HDD in the list.2) Then try booting with your CD/DVD.If that doesnt work then1) Google on how to create a bootable USB Flash drive. These drives are cheap. Once you create a bootable USB drive, copy all of your WinXP CD files to USB root directory and then use that.
